No voyage yet
Create a voyage first. Every log entry, crew list and muster list belongs to one voyage.
Present position
AIS tracking: aisstream.io (free) or MarineTraffic (option)
Deck Log asks an AIS service for the vessel's latest position at the interval below and adds it to the track. Free: aisstream.io through your own relay (tools/aisstream-relay-worker.js), which also keeps the history every 5 minutes. Paid: MarineTraffic (Kpler) API. The key or token stays on this device only; it is never saved in the database or the backup file.
Complete voyage
Filled in from the log. Check the figures, change anything that is wrong, then complete the voyage.
Bunkers before sailing
| Date / time | Fuel | Quantity (l) | Supplier | Delivery note | Remarks |
|---|
Fuel deliveries (MGO, MDO, ULSD, HFO) add up to "Fuel received before departure" in the voyage report and the ROB at departure. Lube oil and water are listed but not counted as fuel.
New entry
Read entries from a photo
Take a photo of the handwritten page. Claude reads it, then you check every line before it goes into the log.

Fuel is counted per vessel in date order: ROB at departure = previous ROB on arrival + fuel received. Enter either fuel consumed or ROB by sounding; with both, the difference shows as a sounding correction. Click a voyage to edit its figures.

Tap a row to edit it. Log entries carry the station name, so the Plan tab and the voyage plan PDF pick up the actual time at each station.

Crew drill status Fire and abandon ship, last 30 days, all voyages of this vessel

Intervals used: fire, abandon ship and man overboard every 30 days; enclosed space every 60 days; damage control, steering gear, oil spill, security and medical every 90 days. Check them against your Safety Management System.

Only crew with duties are listed; supernumeraries are left out. People loaded from the crew bank are marked "bank". Check the required certificates against the Minimum Safe Manning Document and your flag rules.
| Name | Rank | Certificate | Number | Issued | Expires | Status | Issued by | Remarks | Scan |

Crew certificates are kept with the person in the crew bank, so they follow the person to the next voyage. Load a person from the crew bank to check or renew certificates of someone who is not on board now. Tap a row to edit it.
Add a ship certificate
| Certificate / item | Number | Period | Issued | Expires | Status | Annual survey / service | Issued by | Remarks | Scan |

Ship certificates are kept per vessel, so every voyage of this vessel shows the same list. Tap a row to edit it.

One list of every scanned document: what you add here, plus the certificate scans from the Certificates tab (tap one of those to edit it there). Documents of a person follow the person in the crew bank; ship documents follow the vessel. Passport scans hold personal data: keep the page private.
Tap a cabin to rename it, set it for men or women, and assign its bunks. Cabins 1 to 9 have 2 bunks, cabins 10 and 11 have 4. Men and women are never placed in the same cabin unless it is marked Mixed, or mixed cabins are allowed for the whole voyage (tick box under the bunks).

New people from an Excel import or the Add form are saved here automatically. A person is matched by passport number, or by name and date of birth, so a repeat import updates the record instead of making a copy.
